Image MapsEver seen those sites where the menu consists of a pretty picture, yet magically when you click on the picture it links you to an appropriate page? Well this is how it is done, using image maps. Here is an example map based page:As you can see its pretty simple. All that is required is to add a new usemap property to the image tag and set it to the name of our links map. Then we can write the map itself. All co-ordinates are relative to the top left hand corner of the image. You can have three types of area shap, a rectangle in which case the four co-ordinates you supply are those of two diagonal corners x,y,X,Y, or a circle in which case you supply the center and the diameter X,Y,D or a poly (gon) in which case you supply X,Y co-ordinates for each vertex.
